- 3 things are spelling doom for the fate of the 060.

- 2) end of dev cycle (50mhz barrier)
- 3) no 060 optimized versions

- 3 is significant here. 060 advantages really come mostly from 060
- optimized code, otherwise the gains aren't as great as you'd want. And
- since there is no 060 compiler yet (or at least Newtek knows of none) then
- the 060 will probably give the user only a modest boost over an 040/40 in
- actual usable throughput with existing apps.
